The tale of 2 attachments

I know that we’re still in Summer but I’ve been thinking a lot about styling my hair this coming Winter. For the past few years I’ve been submitting myself to my fave – the wash n go, during Winter. In fact my WnG’s during the colder months just got way easier now that I have an awesome new diffuser.

Since the water crisis in Cape Town is not going away anytime soon, I’m thinking of new ways to maintain my hair… and yes, this includes heat. Using heat on your natural hair doesn’t necessary have to be a bad thing. There are some amazing heat protecting sprays on the market right now and if you stick to medium heat, you are good to go.

If you’re searching for a quick, easy way to stretch out your hair then you might want to check out the Revlon Dream Effect dryer, as it comes with a pik concentrator nozzle!!

I received mine as a gift at the first Clicks Curls event in Johannesburg in March 2017, and I have been having the most fun creating different looks with the hair dryer.

Now I know that some of you may be a little confused by all these different nozzles, so I am going to break it down for you.

Pik attachment – Revlon Dream Effect professional dryer with Pik

This nozzle is best for stretching your hair, natural hair blowouts and even creating really big afro’s. I stretch out my hair before doing twist outs and bantu knots. I gently stretch my roots using the pik attachment to elongate my hair before styling.

  • When using this nozzle to straighten or stretch , make sure that your hair us fully detangled.
  • Part your hair into 8 or more small sections. Concentrate the pik at the tip of one section and gently work your way up to the root.

Diffuser attachment – BaByliss expert 2200 ionic

This wide attachment with holes in it to help the air flow through, is a curly girls best friend. It puts an end to the hours you spend on waiting for your wash n go to set, and it is a champion at eliminating frizz.  You can read more about how to perfectly diffuse your hair here.

Hello Carmen. You need to look out for a universal diffuser. Those can be attached to any hand held hair dryer. Hope this helps.
