I posted this pic on my Instagram and FB pages yesterday. I’d been toying around with the idea of actually doing it for about two weeks now. I had forgotten to remove my make up the night before, forgotten to wear my silk scarf. Actually, no – I was to exhausted to do all of those things. I was bored, hence this selfie (yeah, I have selfie game!) I loved the fact that it looked kinda arty and like something straight out of an 80’s movie *sings What A Feeling – Flashdance*.
Then I looked closer. I saw a woman who had come into her own. A woman who was happy with every little thing she had achieved in her life, and looked forward to what was next. A strong woman. An independent woman. A woman who was loved unconditionally by her daughter and vice versa. She struggled with her self-worth, but then she remembered that she was more than worthy. She had allowed the words of others to destroy her, but then she rose like a phoenix, discarded “the others” and started to live boldly.
Stay Gold,
Mandy
