Brunching at News Cafe

In December I received an invitation to experience News Cafe’s new brunch platter menu. Needless to say I started salivating just by looking at the photos. This menu needed a tasting before the end of 2018. More importantly, I needed to experience it with my girlfriends.

How cute was this invitation

Our News Cafe experience

We headed out to News Cafe, Table View on the 9th of December. The cafe is across the road from Milnerton beach, so the view was breathtaking! We were greeted by fabulous music and happy faces persuading us to #BeTheVibe. News Cafe in Table View is sadly only one of two still in existence in Cape Town. I’ve been to a few in Johannesburg and I must say that it is a very different vibe. Nevertheless, the staff were friendly, the restaurant was bustling and we were certainly feeling the vibe! The restaurant has 3 sections – outside (perfect for hot summer days), inside and on top. We opted for inside as the sea-breeze was a little to chilly on that particular Sunday morning.

My invitation included a complimentary platter for 2 and a jug of my choice. In addition to that, we ordered another platter for 4. The News Cafe brunch platter was tasty, affordable and more than enough for the 6 of us.

As you know dear reader, I have changed my eating habits and I went for anything carb-free on the platter. The frittata and streaky bacon comes highly recommended by me.

We chose the French 75 jug because it contained bubbles of course! (No, I haven’t given up my bubbles). It was fruity and refreshingly delish!

How affordable is this menu!!

A platter of yumminess

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience at News Cafe and we will definitely be back for their yummy and highly affordable brunch platters. I think we’ve officially become ” ladies who brunch!”

Have you had News Cafe’s brunch platter yet? If not, would you give it a try?

What an absolutely wonderful Sunday brunch spend with equally beautiful friends. News Cafe was the ideal setting to have our Xmas gift exchange. The bubbly jug comes highly recommended. The price of the brunch worth every penny. I will definitely go back to News Cafe Table View. Beautiful view and very helpful staff. Thank you Amanda for sharing the occasion with us
