The Bounce Essentials Heat Cap Review

So I am quite honestly the laziest natural hair blogger round these parts. I suck at maintaining my mane. In truth, the pics you see on FB and Instagram are pics I allow you to see. I am sure this is true for a great deal of us out there, not so? One thing I know for sure though, it that deep conditioning is an absolute must. Among other things, deep conditioning your hair on a weekly basis keeps your tresses nourished, moisturized and it helps with all round hair health.

Johannesburg based Bounce Essential has introduced a product that will assist you in making your deep conditioning more interesting. Enter the heat cap!

Looks kinda strange, right? Trust me, you can not look sexy in this thing, but it does exactly what it is meant to do.
After applying my deep conditioning mixture, I wrapped my hair in some cling ( we don’t do shower caps at my house, but if you have one it will work) added a scarf for good measure, and approached the cap cautiously. Yes, okay, I was a scaredy cat! I had visions of being electrocuted – which I now realise was insanely stupid! The cap basically works exactly like a heated blanket, quite clever if you ask me. The heated bit is safely embedded inside the cap itself (that’s what the zip is for). It has a very convenient drawstring for you to tighten. This is needed because the cap itself is quite big. There was a decent gap between my hair and the top of the cap, this made me feel more comfortable. I loved the fact that it doesn’t make a sound and that it warms up rather gently. Perfect for your deep conditioning in winter. The cord does tend to get in the way at times but to summarize in one word: Impressed!

Like I said, there is no way you can look sexy in this cap, but it works. I spent the 30 mins doing my nails while the deep conditioning happened. I immediately rinsed with cold water (to seal in the oils), oiled my hair some more, added leave in conditioner and plopped.
The result was soft, big, bouncy, beautiful hair.

Bounce Essential Hair is running a special on their conditioning heat caps until the 28th of April. You can pick up this baby for only R500. How’s that for a bargain?!.
